I got a new camera for my birthday! It's a Canon Rebel XS. It's super sick! I'm in lurve with it!

Being 24 kinda sucks.

I wish I went somewhere for Spring Break.

I'm efforting the idea of losing weight. I've been running the past week. I ran 5 times in 7 days; over a mile each of those days. Small victories. I'll be running marathons sooner than you think! (ha).

So i did some volunteer/intern(?) work with the assistant to my Cinematography/Lighting teacher today. It was a video audition shoot for a Cox Health program called "Be Heart Smart". It was fun, but slow. I definitely got alot out of it today. It was worth the 8 hours of sitting around!

Books!

SO I started reading this awesome book called "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer, and it's pretty amazing so far. I'm about 90 pages in, and I bought it two days ago. It's about this 9-year old kid named Oskar Schell who loses his father in the attacks on 9/11. During his grieving process, He discovers a key in a vase in his parents room, which takes him on a journey to figure out what the key is, all while meeting survivors and other interesting people along the way. So far, so good!

I also bought this book called "On Bullshit" by Harry G. Frankfurt. He is a professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Princeton and he takes a scientific approach to explain what bullshit really is. It's very intriguing, but I have yet to finish it. Pretty awesome so far also!

The Dark Knight (A Film Review)

See image above. That's how I feel about the movie. Not psychotic. You know, the whole clapping thing.

This movie, albeit extremely long, was a very well put together film. Heath stole the show, not because of his untimely death, but his extraordinary performance. He actually scared me a few times with his craziness and psychotic demeanor! (Mainly his laugh).

The film has its comedic moments, it's gutwrenching moments, and it's random strokes of genius. A few parts of the film threw me for a loop, as well as confused me, but overall, I had a strong grasp on it all.

The special effects in this movie were done very well, and I definitely like the twists to the Batman Universe that this film has introduced (or stayed true to the comic, whichever you prefer).

Overall, I give this 3.5/4 Stars

R.I.P. Heath Ledger.
You left this world with haste, but your mark has forever been left with us. This movie is certainly your crowning achievement. Kurt Cobain said it best: "It's better to burn out than fade away..." Your life ended on a masterpiece.

I got the graphic novel "Batman: The Killing Joke" to read before I see it. Heath Ledger based alot of the elements of his character off of the Joker in this graphic novel. Curiousity will kill me one day.

The Darndest Thing...

So during work last night, I took a delivery to some shithead kids at a hotel, and after I got the money and walked up to the front desk to drop off the receipt for their collection, I ran into a good friend I haven't seen in 3 years! Talk about the darndest thing! I ended up going back up there after work and talking with her until she got off work and then we went to a bar and had a couple beers and stayed out with her until 1:30 am. It was really really great!

Hancock = Meh (A Film Review)

I was pretty disappointed overall with "Hancock". I went to see it last night (for free, which made it better) and I can honestly say I could have made a better movie with the budget. It was hyped a little bit too much, which ultimately dissatisfied me with the finished product. Don't get me wrong, the concept was GREAT! The actors; amazing! The small twists were pretty good. I like the idea of spinning the superhero genre in a different direction, but the story was lacking in places it shouldn't have. It was only an hour and a half long, which leaves room for more story, but from what I read in the newspaper last week, it was cut down from two hours because it didn't impress the test audiences. Maybe they were under a deadline and couldn't deliver a pristine cut? Who knows? I just hope this doesn't tarnish Will Smith, Jason Bateman, or Charlize Theron's stellar appeal. They all take part in great films. Just don't judge them from this one.

There are so many questions I want answered, yet I don't know who to ask.

At times I catch myself wondering if things are ever going to get better, or am I on a plateau?

I also catch myself doing something I know for a fact is going to backfire, but what do I do? I follow through. And it backfires. Just as predicted.

Is there REALLY somebody out there for EVERYBODY?

Have I already passed them by?

Do I really need that person?

Will my long-time fears prove true in this unforgiving world?

Why can't I muster the courage to just do something daring and possibly rewarding for myself?

Why do I ALWAYS lock up when the time calls for action? Actions I know for a fact will benefit me in the long run?

Why can't I break the cycle I've spun myself into?

I am happy, but how happy AM I? Could I be happier than I already am? Or am I actually completely miserable compared to the "happy" I could become in the future?

Is this it?

I want to feel needed.
I want to feel protected.
I want to feel accomplished.
I want to be 120% proud to be me.
At this point, I'm only 89%. At best.

The burning question in my brain that I may never get answered:

Why in blue perfect hell do nice guys always...ALWAYS...finish dead fuck last?

I will never settle.

Pixar Gets Political! (A Film Review)

I went and saw "Wall-E" tonight, and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed! Pixar just keeps crankin' out amazing movies. They certainly set the bar higher and higher time after time. From the beginning of the short to the last seconds of the movie itself, I couldn't take my eyes off screen. And to think that the majority of the movie had little to no "dialog" (mainly robotic tones and clicks and clammers) I found myself highly attentive. And the movie has a great message to it as well. I won't give it away if you don't know, but It is certainly thought provoking.

Overall Rating - 3.9/4 Stars!

Well, I'm doing alright now. It sucked at first, but its not as bad as i thought. It may get worse when nick actually leaves germany for iraq/afghanistan, but for now, I'm alright.

I don't have to wear my shitty & smelly splint-wrap thing anymore! w00t! It still kinda hurts, but not enough to wear that thing anymore. wahoo!

I'm going to springfield today to put my room in my new house together. I left it in a mess; a smattering of boxes and stuff strewn about. I'm also doing a little bit of "Banksy" style graffiti in my basement with a giant stencil I made of my fraternity crest. If it comes out like it hope it will...then it will be awesome looking.

I'm looking for some glow-in-the-dark spraypaint. Is that real? Does it exist?

iPod No Longer At REST!

I believe i said R.I.P. iPod Photo about 2 or 3 years ago...but i never got rid of it. The other day I found it and was determined to fix it.

I found this post on Crunch Gear about fixing iPods with Sad Faces/Exclamation Points + Folders. So i followed the instructions; now my iPod has 2 folded Post-Its inside him and an OPEN MIND!!!

I am now syncing my ENTIRE MUSIC COLLECTION onto my 60GB BEAST of an iPod!!!

So i am feeling incredibly sick right now. I am having cold sweats, a sore throat, and runny nose. The worst thing about it all is that I have to work in an hour, and I can't get anybody to work for me. Everybody sucks.

Why does everybody only care about themselves? What happened to friendship? Integrity? Work ethic? I work my ass off; have been for about 9 years now. I started working when I was 14, and I pretty much havent stopped since then. What I don't get is that it doesnt change wherever you go. If you're sick, you have to get somebody to work for you, but for some reason, nobody ever "can". Probably just too busy with their personal lives or are too lazy.

On the other end of teh spectrum, I am missing out on a bitchin opportunity due to stupid ass gen eds! Because I don't have my Gen Eds done yet, I decided to take them this summer so I could take my last two semesters a bit easier, but because I have to get two of the stupidest Gen Eds ever completed (Math & PED), I'm missing out on an internship with the writing staff for "Eureka"!!!!!!!! FUCK! Leave it up to Gen Eds to ruin everything! Maybe my rocket ship will come again....

So I saw "No Country For Old Men" yesterday, and It was pretty damn good, but I don't know if it deserved Best Picture. Don't get me wrong, it piqued to my action/thriller cat-and-mouse lust and all, but really? There were some pretty awesome movies out this year, such as "Gone Baby Gone" among others. Maybe the Academy is more political than previously thought.

Hi. First post ever. Hope I can appease the masses!

I feel that I should start writing more, so here I go!

I had an interesting day today. My glorious screenwriting teacher Diana Botsford set up a GLORIOUS web chat tonight with the staff writers from the show "Eureka" on the Sci-Fi channel and they gave me great insight on the wonderful world of screenwriting. It's definitely something I want to break into in the near future. I'm in the works of writing a pilot/series on my own!*hush hush* If you ever get a chance to watch the show...I highly suggest it. Good clean holiday fun!

I turned 23 last wednesday. I wanna say that I feel old, but I'm closer to 20 than 30!

I got a generous amount of money for my birthday from my loving family to put towards the new MacBook that I desire so much! By May, IT.WILL.BE.MINE!!!!!

I'm super stoked about the new installment to The Alchemy Index by Thrice! It comes out in 2 weeks, and I can't contain my excitement! If you don't know about Thrice, I highly suggest listening up!
